A Night with Richard Poon concert on Feb. 10 2010-07-25
 Celebrate the season of love as Richard Poon serenades us once again in a pre-valentine's concert the Meralco Theatre, Pasig City with a surprise special guest on February 10, 2010 at 8.00 pm.
Artist Profile:
Certified-Platinum recording artist Richard Poon is the Philippines’ multi-awarded Big-Band Crooner. This 100% Chinese singer’s unique, fresh brand of music(Big-Band/Standards), and cool, soothing voice has made him charmingly stand out in a crowded sea of pop male balladeers.
Richard sings the "Standards"— these are immortal melodies written in the 1950's that have survived the test of time, popularized by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Matt Monro, Paul Anka, Nat King Cole.
Like the younger crooners Buble & Connick, Richard's vision is to blur the generational lines by masterfully giving the old classics a fresh twist.
Breaking into the music industry in January 2008, his debut solo album "I'll Take Care Of You"(MCA Music) soared to Gold and Platinum status and continues to be one of the country’s top selling records today. His hit single "I'll Take Care Of You" has then become the favorite serenade of couples in Philippine wedding circles.
Further solidifying his excellent musicianship, Richard won prestigious back-to-back awards as he won both the 2008 Awit Awards’ Best New Male Recording Artist and the 2008 Aliw Awards Best Male Performer in Hotels, Bars and Music Lounges. This June 2009, Richard was awarded Breakthrough Artist of the Year by the 1st Radio Music Awards.
